I apologize for my lack of food photography skills, but here is one recipe I can’t NOT share. It’s healthy, easy to cook, and boy oh boy it is delish.
My mom brought home this recipe oneday in which we revised it to fit our likes and dislikes and it was just perfect the way it came out. Here is our variation of the ingredients, measurements, and the directions!

It’s kinda strange revisiting all of these pictures now since I’ve been home for a week. I’m back in the American grind and thinking about Greece feels foreign to me again. I didn’t think I’d adjust so fast, but when you’re home, you’re home. Home becomes all you know again.

Working on my typography game, I chose a quote this time around by the Hole song Doll Parts.

Looking back at all the photos I took from my long trip, I have a boatload of graffiti photos. It’s kinda crazy to think about how a country known to be so beautiful has quite a juxtaposition happening. You can defend how that occurs in every country and city, but it’s one thing to hear it and another to see it up close and personal.
As much as it is technically defacing buildings and other surfaces, I enjoy coming across bright, colorful, and detailed graffiti. It’s the vulgar language that I loathe seeing because it ruins the artistic aspect of graffiti. And this is why we can’t have nice things. 👎

I had just arrived home on Saturday from my three month long trip and am real excited to be back. While I prepare my photos for the upcoming posts that will be more in depth about my trip than what I was able to post while in Greece, I’ll post my weekly entertaining post today that I accidentally neglected the past couple of weeks.
So here we go.
The visual aspects of movies are something that is hard to ignore. I wouldn’t call myself fashion obsessive, but I appreciate fashion that is featured in films. Obviously eccentric styles are my favorites as I have shown here.

Crete is Greece’s largest island, and is said to be a 12 hour drive from one end to the other. That’s about where I am in New York to the tip of South Carolina. Equivalent to a road trip down a good chunk of the east coast.
When I arrived by boat I just didn’t know what to expect at all. I pictured tiny villages in mountains filled with goats and donkeys. I was excited to see how wrong I was! It’s a very developed island which has areas just as hopping’ as Athens.

Finally have a chance to check in. I have to admit, looking at previous posts while being in Greece, it didn’t hit me until now how much I’ve done the past nine months. I made my big move to the west coast almost a year ago, and even though I’ve moved back home since then, I really haven’t been in New York much. I began the year in Portland, with a week in Louisiana a few months later, and now two months in Greece. Even though this was definitely not how I imagined things would play out, I was lucky to get out and explore this year because if I was still in Portland, none of these trips would have happened. Life would be so different, so I’m becoming appreciative for this free time.

Any of y’all fans of surf rock? It originated in the 60’s influenced by the surf culture under the California sun. It’s a sound that I thoroughly enjoy – that electric guitar and reverb gets me. I adore it.

As I have written previously about rediscovering your hobbies, I still feel that everyone forgets about the simple things in life. I think it’s important to take a step back and give love to the things that make you happy. As you can see, I’m big into the arts as it has been with me throughout my life journey, and it will be with me till the end. I will always preach for the arts.
I will also preach for coloring books. Sounds silly? Well, hear me out.

First off, happy August! Can’t believe how far into the year we are already. This also means that I will be in Greece for three more weeks. I can’t believe I’ve been here two months already. Boy does time REALLY fly.
Onto the topic of the post…so, my aunt owns a textile shop here in Athens, but is not only limited to working with textiles. She does murals, displays, portraits, etc. I may or may not have gotten my artistic genes from her. Anyway, my aunt recently took a job with a client to make her curtains and pillows but along the way, the conversation became about art and all of a sudden I was assigned a job to do portraits by the client’s brother. He wanted a portrait of his daughters. This discussion was weeks ago, but because of the economic crisis here, the project was delayed.
