This 2020 is bringing the crafty witch out in me. I was commissioned to do this pet portrait by a friend of her precious baby girl that passed away. Jessie was fierce but also a big mush. Forget those pitbull stereotypes.

Anywho, I love working on wood, and I had all intentions of painting this portrait, but I decided to take a different route after I sketched everything out.

Sun Room Canvas Art

Ever browse too far up in the photos on your phone, and you spot a picture that makes you go like “oh yeaaah, I remember that!”? That’s how I came across these photos from this project I did before the holidays last year.

My parents moved into their current home last summer, and they’ve done a wonderful job at making it feeling homey even though it’s a super fresh house. It’s become a super comfortable getaway when I want to escape from city life.

State Pride

This is a topic that I will always find interesting. Why do we feel such pride about where we’re from? Is it “home is where the heart is”? Or a deep connection to all the people we’ve met and the experiences we’ve had? I’m sure there’s a crapload of reasons, especially to individual people, but I find it interesting seeing so much art created featuring our beloved U.S. states that people really buy into.
