I don’t know about y’all, but this quarantine life has me reminiscing of old trips I’ve been on. It occurred to me how much I’ve been wrapped up in in work and life that I missed one of my favorite days. I figured acknowledging it later is better than never acknowledging it.
Twin Peaks Day was on the February 24th. So, happy belated Twin Peaks Day!

November of 2018, I took a trip to Washington with family, and since we were planning a drive from one side of the state to the other, I put in a request to stop at Twin Peaks hotspots.
The first stop from Seattle to Spokane was Snoqualmie Falls. The falls are in a lot of cut scenes in the show, and it was just as magnificent as you can imagine seeing it in person. It was massive and magical. The scenery was perfect with the “Great Northern” aka the Salish Lodge & Spa in the background.
It was November, so it was chilly. We didn’t stay too long to stare at the falls. But it was 100% a glorious view.
Next we made a trip to the “RR Diner” aka Twedes Cafe. a good chunk of the show takes place in this diner, so I needed to see it for myself.
We were hungry so we didn’t just order coffee and pie. I ordered a hot chocolate and a burger. It was a really good meal.
There was a lot of Twin Peaks merch on the main counter and Twin Peaks artwork everywhere. It makes me wonder if the locals are kinda tired of all the fans coming in, but I’m sure business is business at the end of the day.
Next up we tried looking for the infamous “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign. We found ourselves on the correct road, but we couldn’t find it. We drove up and down the road thinking we missed it. Finally I pulled up the handy Google and read that the sign was stolen shortly after the reboot, so it explained a lot of why we couldn’t find it. But it also made me upset reminding me of why we can’t have nice things.
I was bummed, but still was entertained when we passed a bar and grill called The Roadhouse. I’m sure it isn’t related whatsoever to The Roadhouse in the show, but I’d like to think the owners were inspired. I wish we had enough time to pop in there, so that’ll have the be a destination for next time.
I’d love to pop by all these hotspots again some time in the future, and with more research, I can find more hotspots to visit. I know there were a few more I could have checked out. For now, I’m just dreaming of the falls and the diner while I’m stuck indoors.
