See You Later, Letterman

Late Night With David Letterman Poster

Did any of you tune into Dave Letterman’s final show last night? It was a show full of montages and a fun top ten list featuring an awesome batch of actors (I may or may not have squealed when Bill Murray appeared). It was definitely an emotional show. I mean, the guy has been on air for 30 years, it’s kinda a big deal.

My Constant Battle With Bangs

I want them and then I don’t. I consider chopping them off but want to try and grow them out. I miss them, cut them, and then immediately regret it. I’m affected by the issue of wanting something I can’t have, or immediate gratification that eventually expires or backfires. Whatever the case, I seem to have found myself in a permanent love/hate relationship with my ‘fringe’.

Movies For The Lost And Confused

Lost In Translation Fan Art

The past few weeks have been rough for me since finishing up night classes. I guess I’m just anxious for my extended vacation coming up in two weeks. Time has never moved so slow, and it’s been rough trying to fill my days with activities. It’s hard for me to get bored, like, difficult, but I’m really craving change (I’m trying really hard not to take it out on my hair) and this waiting game has gotten me a bit down. Like other human beings, I develop bad habits during moments where I feel down and I’m probably not doing myself or anyone else any favors by feeding depressing things, but since this is appropriate to my life right now, I’m going to feed into it anyway.

My Guide To Resizing Shirts

Learning to sew really made life easier when it came to shopping. I love thrift shopping, and coming across a shirt that didn’t fit me right was always disappointing. Years of practicing and experimenting eventually helped me look past sizes and buy whatever I liked if I was down to put in the work to fix ’em up.

I thought I’d write up a post sharing my method of resizing shirts. This post was written to downsize, so if you came across a shirt you want to make smaller, carry on!

Veruca Salt Bottle Top Magnets

Reusing, upcycling, diy-ing – all things I like to do. Mix that with pop culture, and BAM – me.

My brother for the longest time has been saving bottle tops for reasons I don’t really know of. Kinda made me question how much beer he used to drink, but whatever, it was more surface area for me to work with. I played with bottle tops first with these Gwen Stefani magnets I made. And then I carried on and made these fun Veruca Salt magnets.

Love Notes In New Orleans

Graffiti in New Orleans

I think this will be the last post of my New Orleans trip? I saw quite a bit graffiti, murals, and signs while visiting. I wish I captured more but there was that issue of trying to live in the moment and not behind a camera. And so I decided to live in the moment and visually take in everything I saw of the city.

May-keover Media // 001

Lolita Fan Art

So this idea came about when I was on my vacation down south with friends having a conversation about movie remakes. It was an interesting topic in which they encouraged me to write a handful of posts during the month of May, hence the “may-keover”. It’s definitely quite a process for me to do all this “research”, but I’ll take any excuse to watch movies and listen to music.
Round one I have three movies and three songs to compare and contrast!

Montage Of Heck

Kurt Cobain Poster

Growing up, Nirvana and Kurt Cobain’s suicide appeared on countless of VH1 countdowns I loved watching, but I was never too familiar with Nirvana until I bought their greatest hits back when it was released in 2002. It was the perfect introduction, which helped Nirvana grow on me. I was in middle school, deep into my metal phase, and I discovered that the grunge movement wasn’t too far off stylistically from metal making it easy for me to develop a strong love for the Seattle grunge scene.

State Pride

This is a topic that I will always find interesting. Why do we feel such pride about where we’re from? Is it “home is where the heart is”? Or a deep connection to all the people we’ve met and the experiences we’ve had? I’m sure there’s a crapload of reasons, especially to individual people, but I find it interesting seeing so much art created featuring our beloved U.S. states that people really buy into.
