It’s October. Mid-way into the spooky autumn month. The leaves are falling and people are getting ready for Halloween.
Being a summer time hit, Stranger Things is still just as relevant as it’s still spooky, and you know it’s gonna be such an influencer for Halloween costumes.
As I’m still fixing up the apartment, I’m working on upcycling a whole lot of furniture I own and crafting a whole lot of cute decoration to make this space more fun. There’s so much I want to do but I’m taking baby steps to make sure they look finished and professional.
On top of the couch is quite the open empty wall space. I knew a tapestry would look great in that space, but it was a tough to make a decision to pick the right design on, say, Society6 or Redbubble or any retail store. There were SO many to choose from.
Since my roommate and I love our pop culture, Stranger Things came out at just the right time because we thought it would be cool to have the alphabet and Christmas lights on the wall without actually painting the alphabet and hanging Christmas lights to get the same effect. I’m sure our landlord would not like that at all.
I created the image in Illustrator mimicking the alphabet and lights, while adding a fun floral background to also mimic the wallpaper in the Byers’ home. I did want to make it less 70’s wallpaper though, and a little more modern with fun colors.
I added it to my Redbubble shop if you want to check it out here and maybe purchase too if you’re feeling adventurous. I bought the smallest tapestry size for myself and am super psyched to receive it. That will probably have it’s own post because I’ll obviously be pumped to share what it’ll look like above the couch.
I’ll keep y’all updated when I receive it! It’ll make this space a little more filled in and homey.
