Unfortunately my awesome vacation has come to an end; just got back home today.
I’m not going to go into much depth about the daily shenanigans we participated in, but I’ll quickly summarize.
Aside from Jazz Fest, all the bar hopping, neighborhood roaming, and house-photo taking, we visited some hotspots such as the St. Louis Cathedral, the Audubon Aquarium, and Bourbon Street (featuring a true Bourbon experience). Chilled at The Country Club, and popped into some voodoo shops.
We saw much live music, and ate food like there was no tomorrow. Satisfied our fried chicken craving with some good ol’ Cane’s, ate brunch at local cafes such as Ruby Slippers, and challenged bartenders with new drinks at the Carousel Bar. We ate dessert at the delicious Sucre, and had a wine night at Bacchanal. And of course we had to eat some beignets from Cafe Du Monde at some point. Duh.
We explored so many shops up and down Magazine Street and Oak Street. Hot damn, Magazine Street is the longest street full of shops ever. I love it.
Bopping around these streets is mostly what we did, and I’ve concluded that this is my favorite city full of vintage and thrift shops. I’m willing to take the challenge of finding another city with vintage shops better than NOLA.
Obviously the most important part was spending time with friends, and that was for sure accomplished. I stayed at my friend’s apartment, receiving all the love from her dog Mimi. She’s got the cutest underbite, and loves attention all the time which I have absolutely no problem giving her.
She jumps with joy, and we were recorded jumping with joy together. Mimi is the best. (It’s a bit of a low quality gif, I apologize.)
I was sad to see the trip come to an end, but believe you me, I will be back, New Orleans! Definitely sooner than later.
