I’m going to take a tiny break from New Orleans thangs and share these fun keychains I made!
I used Sculpey oven-bake clay. I always wanted to make something fun and bake it, but I had an irrational fear of something going wrong during the baking process, resulting in the house burning down. I decided to get over that and try it out, and it turned out to be a-okay!
I made crystal balls, eyes with lashes, and deep sea divers. The shape looks funny pre-painted, but I knew what I was going for when I shaped them.
The baking was successful. I was skeptical of how baked they would be since there was no indication it was being baked. When baking cookies, the start browning – clay does not. It said to leave it in 15 minutes and not to overbake. 15 minutes, took ’em out and they were done!
I painted them all fun colors and sprayed with clear glaze to give it a nice finish. Then looped in links to add a key ring. Voila.
Since I didn’t make them with the intention of keeping them, I added them in my Storenvy shop. Anyone want any? I want an excuse to make more.
