I was going through my jewelry one day and came across this pair of crochet hoops. I wore it to work the next day and got quite a number of compliments. I always wanted to get into hoop earrings, but I always want some fun earrings as well. I felt encouraged after getting the thumbs up from people that see me everyday.
Thinking about the supplies I own, I attempted to make my own pair of funky hoop earrings. And these were completely cost-free because I already had everything I needed.
I found these random bangles, fish hook earrings, and fun fabric.
After laying down my fabric, I traced the bangles and cut out four pieces. I left about a centimeter around the traced lines while cutting the rounds out.
I placed the bangles sandwiched between two pieces, pinned them together tightly, and sewed around the outside bits of the bangles. I sewed it pretty super tight. I did the same treatment to both bangles.
It obviously didn’t feel complete without beads. I’ve been all about beads. I love beads. Did you know? I love beads.
I sewed beads on both sides around the bangles.
I cut a hole at the top, and looped through a loop and a fish hook earring.
Voila. The most frustrating part was sewing the sandwiched pieces symmetrical and tightly for it to work. But it wasn’t too difficult once I got the hang of it.
They’re fun!
