Whenever I have free time, I enjoy sitting down and working on fun embroidery hoop wall art. It gives me the opportunity to experiment with different embroidery stitches, breads, trims, and fabric. I have a wide array of miscellaneous materials, so it’s fun incorporating what I can into my hoop arts.
Early this year, I had an idea in my head of something I wanted to work on. It didn’t end up starting the way I hoped, so instead I switched gears and began stitching cool colored threads with a bunch of French knots. I’ve never done these knots before, so it was fun going wild and crazy. It kinda resembles a chenille sort of texture which is cool. I love chenille.
I played with a bunch of purples and blues and ended up going with some sort of “galaxy” theme. This was decided along the way, because that’s how I work the majority of the time. An idea has to simmer. Yea, that sounds kinda cheesy.
When I felt happy enough with this rounded crescent chenille bit, I switched it up and sewed another round bit with normal long stitches. I filled it up as much as it made me happy, and then included beads on top.
I’ve concluded that French knots are my favorite. The more you know 🌈
The hoop is currently added to my Etsy shop. J
