Hey, 2016!

2015 was a wild year. Full of a decent amount of ups and plenty of downs. Haven’t concluded if they equalized, but it was definitely a roller coaster ride.

I began my year moving back from my “dream city” of Portland after living there for only four months. The year started off on of bad note because it became a kind of reminder that things didn’t work out so I had to take a few steps back and undo what I did. Not exactly what I wanted, but it had to be done. With that said, I was excited to start all over again back home, but things didn’t exactly work in my favor back home either. At least not right away. Things began to turn around for me towards the end of the year, which is why I feel positive 2016 will turn out great.

To talk about the upsides:
• I took a couple of night classes and became real close with my friend whom I graduated college with, as we took those night classes together.
• I started this blog in February, which I’m super grateful I did even though I ended up completely abandoning my old blog. I still reference it for myself, and will probably forever do so.
• I did a lot of traveling, a lot more than I expected. Portland, New Orleans, Greece, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
• I started experimenting with rag weave projects which so far have turned out to be a hit. It’s been super encouraging.
• I also finally got a job mid November.

2014 was a year I decided to “make things happen after graduating college”, which I did graduate and made things happen. Even if it ended up being a bust, I followed through with my goals which made 2014 a successful year in a way.
So being that I made my decision last December to move back home, I planned for 2015 to “go with the flow and see where life takes me”. My goals were to travel and get a job. I did both and I’m especially grateful that I pulled both off, especially the job since we all know the job market is tough these days.

Now that 2016 is here, I want to make this the year to “find out what success means to me and work towards that success”. I usually like to make a list of goals and plans I’d like to accomplish, but I figured I should keep it basic this time around. There’s so much I’d like to do, and I’m going to do it all at my own pace. I plan on aiming high and working hard. I’ve got my head on straight and I know what to work towards. Well, I haven’t exactly got it all figured out (who does?), but I have developed a better idea than the last year. My horoscope for 2016 says real good things for me so I’m excited to see what comes my way!

Happy new year!
